Stephanie Wilde

President Circle Chair

Stephanie was born and raised in California. She grew up near Redlands, where her parents from Indiana attended University. As a child, Stephanie remembers miles of orange groves along the drive to her grandmother’s house and looking out at the majestic San Bernardino Mountains.

Stephanie was a Family Nurse Practitioner and Director of Advanced Practice Nursing at Loma Linda University Medical Center for many years. She moved to San Diego in 2005 with her husband, Tom, and worked as a School Nurse in Special Education. Later, she taught Pediatric Nursing at CSUSM and worked in the Pediatric triage call center for Rady Children’s.

Stephanie developed a passion for nature early in life.

“Nature has always been a source of intrigue and inspiration. It is a true refuge for me. One of my earliest memories was visiting my grandparents’ cottage in the mountains. I remember dashing from our Dodge station wagon and looking out at the world in awe. There were trees, streams, birds, and other critters. I was thrilled and filled with wonder and freedom as I dashed to the nearest trail. Throughout childhood, I loved hiking in the local mountains and did so regularly with my father and our family pup. My mother loved the desert and was greatly interested in Native Californian history and art. My sister, brother, and I developed a love for it all.”

Stephanie discovered Nature Collective shortly after moving to San Diego and has been involved ever since.

“I have profound respect for and pride in this organization and feel connected to the values, mission, and vision of Nature Collective. I am at a point in my life where I want to be a part of the important work Nature Collective is doing for future generations. It gives me a sense of purpose and connection-a sense of being part of something much larger than myself.”
