Celebrating the strength that diversity brings to protecting lands and waters.

This month, we are excited to celebrate Pride. June is Pride Month in many countries. Pride, globally celebrated throughout the year, brings us together to recognize the struggles and contributions of LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and all the other gender identities and sexual orientations of members of the community) people to make our world—and conservation—more inclusive for all.

This means including more diverse perspectives with different backgrounds at the decision-making table earlier and more often.

It means pausing to listen and learn from the communities we serve as we work to solve urgent problems facing our planet. BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities are disproportionately affected by the environmental harms caused by air and water pollution and rising sea levels. Learn more at EarthDay.org.

In collaboration with Queering The Path, we are excited to host a 3-Mile Loop Challenge on June 24, 2023. Together we will use our collective voices to celebrate the strength that diversity brings to the mission of protecting the lands and waters on which we all depend. We hope you will join us!
