Community Habitat Restoration Event

Join us in our habitat restoration project in the Stonebridge Mesa and Santa Carina areas of San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. Your help is needed as we restore 38 acres of coastal sage scrub habitat, home to a federally endangered bird, the California Gnatcatcher.

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, a hat, and get ready for hands-on fun in the soil! You can help restoration team members remove invasive species. That will help seedlings local to the area, including: California buckwheat, spiny redberry, bush monkeyflower, and indigenous grasses that provide nectar, pollen and seeds for hungry butterflies, insects, birds and other animals.

Thank you for helping us in this 3-year project funded by the Wildlife Conservation Board.

Nature Collective exists to drive a passion for nature, for all. We believe that if we help people discover a passion for nature, they will want to protect and value everything it has to offer.
