Volunteer Restoration Event March 16

Join us in our habitat restoration project in the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. Your help is needed as we restore 38 acres of coastal sage scrub habitat, home to a federally endangered bird, the California Gnatcatcher.

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, a hat, and get ready for hands-on fun in the soil! You can help restoration team members remove invasive species. That will help the newly planted seedlings local to the area, including California buckwheat, spiny redberry, bush monkeyflower, and indigenous grasses that provide nectar, pollen, and seeds for hungry butterflies, insects, birds, and other animals.

Thank you for helping us in this 3-year project funded by the Wildlife Conservation Board.
