Lecture: San Elijo Lagoon Restoration: A 35-Year Vision for a Revived Wetland

Nature Collective’s Executive Director and Principal Scientist Doug Gibson will share the many successes of the newly restored San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, including how Nature Collective, an Encinitas-based nonprofit, obtained funding for this visionary project; how the lagoon’s healthier tidal channels are creating habitat for new species as sea levels rise; how more people are connecting via new trails; the impact on the coastal region, and the vision for the “Strawberry Fields,” soon to be Fields of the Future.

In collaboration with MiraCosta College LIFE program.
