Nature Collective is honored for our work in the establishment + beautification of Harbaugh Seaside Trails!
Postcard coastal views is one way to put it. This land is designated permanent open space. Nature Collective created innovative partnerships with a focus on community and environmental preservation.
Hundreds of volunteers helped to spread out 8,000 plants, indigenous to this area, into the soil that support 4 Southern California habitat types. The scents of sages blending with coastal fog envelops all who find home, away from home.
This volunteering makes Harbaugh Seaside Trails part of everyone’s nature love story, and part of conservation history.
And this spring, the flowers are everywhere! It is a lovely time to visit.
This newest open space also connects to 8 miles of trails in San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve for one continuous journey.
The design of Harbaugh Seaside Trails was performed pro bono by Grounded Modern Landscape. The firm received an Honor Award for the property’s sustainable design features in 2020 by American Society of Landscape Architects, San Diego chapter.

We thank California Trails + Greenways and California State Parks for recognizing the importance of our newest open space! The more we get outside, the more we can connect, experience, and protect nature.
Can you make a donation, of any amount, to help us expand access to nature?
Yes! I’ll make a gift for the future today!
