This grant will help us tear down barriers and provide transformative, life-changing access to the vital natural and cultural resources that every young person deserves.

 Hand-in-hand with the Escondido Union School District, and partner nonprofits Coastal Roots Farm and The Escondido Creek Conservancy, we are uniting our expertise and resources to ignite the spark of discovery for 5,200 students from 12 Escondido schools, bringing them out of the classroom and into the great, life-affirming outdoors!

Over the next two school years, these students will embark on an unforgettable journey—an adventure far beyond the textbook, funded by this grant and powered by your passion.

Imagine the impact: Students moving beyond traditional lessons with hands-on, inquiry-based activities that foster deep connection and critical thinking. Imagine students getting their hands dirty at a sustainable community farm, learning about the cycles of life and food. Youth marveling at the wonders of a vibrant estuary and marine protected area, uncovering the mysteries of the ocean, and exploring the joy and peace of an urban recreational reserve, finding nature in their own “backyard”.
