San Elijo is Experiencing Challenges

Social distancing has notably impacted our public experiences. This is a now-familiar place as we all adjust to closures, cancellations and postponements.
Behind the scenes, our team continues to connect with educators through virtual learning and support. Our habitat restoration teams continue to monitor and work on essential sites, including Harbaugh Seaside Trails and Cardiff Living Shoreline, among others.

Like all San Diego County parks and beaches, physical distancing requirements are currently in place. We urge you to adhere to these requirements for your safety and the safety of others. San Elijo Lagoon rangers are on the trails educating the public about these important guidelines. The Nature Center is currently closed, and the County of San Diego Parks & Recreation will announce its re-opening when that date is known.
Our events in May are canceled. I Love Clean San Diego’s Creek to Bay Cleanup is tentatively rescheduled for June 20. We will update our June and beyond calendars as soon as possible.
We are planning for the seasons ahead—securing grants and opportunities that will bring us all back together again.
Get more involved with our virtual experiences! We connect everyone with nature’s power of healing by encouraging all to create and share nature art, to reflect on nature, and to post photos of our best memories in nature.
Without you, lands and waters would go unprotected. Without you, outdoor experiences would not exist. Together, we’ll connect with, experience and protect nature for all generations.
We are especially grateful to the following supporters. Your gifts mean the world, right now. Our world is one where everyone can connect with, experience and protect nature.
Thank You:
Annie Cafarelli

Will you join or renew your support?
Any amount is welcome. With your support we will rally even better to greet people back on the trails in San Elijo Lagoon, and beyond in our county-wide nature experiences.
